Health care

Health care benefits can be provided to our veterans upon request. Application information includes gross income, assets, medical expenses, and educational expenses, if applicable. Applications (Form VA 10-10EZ) can be downloaded from the Veterans Administration (VA) website or picked up at our office.Auglaize-County-Auditor-ServicesA common misconception about VA Healthcare is that it should be used if the veteran is eligible or enrolled. However, VA Healthcare is used at the veteran’s discretion, as a primary or secondary health service (supportive care). Some veterans visit their GP and choose to have their prescriptions filled by the VA.

Compensation

Compensation is a cash benefit paid to veterans who have been injured in the line of duty or who suffer a disability or injury as a result of their service. However, not all injuries or disabilities are visible, eg, post-traumatic stress disorder, also known as PTSD. We help veterans with claims and submit forms to the VA that can help veterans receive eligible benefits. In case you have questions about a medical condition, injury, or disability, call us or visit our office to discuss your options.

Pension and widow’s pension

There are three levels of pension an applicant can receive: pension, home and help, and support.

These types of pensions are based on length of service, all earnings, medical expenses, necessary medical care, and financial assets. In addition, a veteran must have served at least 90 days during wartime and only 1 day during wartime, be entirely disabled (or 65 years or older), and meet financial requirements. The VA takes all these circumstances into account when deciding on pension entitlement.
